Aim to have a permanent insurance over term whenever possible. If you currently have term in place, the earlier you can convert to permanent, the better. To have guaranteed premiums and be insured for the rest of your life with an added bonus of cash value, makes this type of insurance the better choice. Consider getting Term Life Insurance if you have a limited budget. This is a great option over getting a mortgage insurance as it can cover other expenses such as debt, tuition, funeral expenses and other living expenses. Unlike permanent insurance, term does not act as a savings vehicle. Term is ideal to get in your 20’s or 30’s when you generally have less health concerns which makes for more affordable premiums.

I often get asked this question and rather than replying “now”, this is another variation of a practical answer.
